Grand Rapids - The Grand Rapids Art Museum is displaying two stolen Italian panel paintings before returning

"The pieces were brought to the art museum in 1947 and unknown to the museum, had been stolen from the Church of Saint Eustace in Campo di Giove, Abruzzo Italy in 1902. The Grand Rapids Art Museum will display the pieces from April 8th until May 4th, when they will be shipped back to Italy."

It's interesting that the Church of Saint Eustace has agreed to let the art museum keep the panels a little longer. I wonder how the church was able to located them in Grand Rapids.
