The History of the Foundation
Frank and Olgivanna Lloyd Wright established the Taliesin Fellowship in 1932 as a self-sustaining community of apprentices and architects who would learn and practice the philosophy of organic architecture by sharing in architectural work, building construction, and the related arts.
In 1940, The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation was created by Wright to perpetuate the Fellowship. Wright endowed the Foundation with all of his past and future designs, drawings, writings, and personal property including his homes, Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin and Taliesin West in Scottsdale, Arizona.
