The Commodore´s House was built on the foundations from an older house in 1748. It is situated in the far west of Denmark on the small wadden sea island of Roemoe.

The riches of this impressive house includes English and German faiance, East Indian porcelain, Dutch tiling and panels and ceilings painted in the fashion of the day with biblical motifs. On display is also the complete skeleton of a large sperm whale, telling the story of the riches brought to this small, dry island by the 17th and 18th century whaling in the Ice Sea.

Next to the farm is one of the smallest school houses in Denmark: Toftum School, built in 1784 by local farmers and sailors.

Open May 1st - October 31st.
